That sucks! Sorry to hear it might not be working out for you. No two people's hands are made the same. I love mine. Doesn't rub me like that. However, I would not like to shoot 100+ rounds at once with the XD-S either. It drives straight back in my hand. About a 100 rounds at a pop and am good. I'll finish the day out with 40cal.

Some interesting points for the OP...

1.) ArmyGuy... Yeah, I am a Marine so you know where this is headed. LOL
2.) Lefthanded... You are NOT in your right mind.. LOL
3.) Girlie hands... LOL
4.) I am not thinking you would like the 1911 in 3". I shot a buddies Warthawg and it was cool and all, but not a range day kinda gun. Much like this little polymer blessing. Shoot for familiarity, and accuracy, not round count.

My humble opinions, and of course you can toss some army stuff back this way. Either way I hope you end up with a pistol YOU are comfortable with, and added to that hope you NEVER need to draw it.

Three words:

Colt New Agent.

Almost the same dimensions as the XDS, only 2.5oz heavier empty, and carries two more rounds onboard. Can use 8 round fullsized 1911 mags (or even 10 round). Reliable little buggers, as well.

I figured the girly left hand comment would of came out on page 1

I dunno what im doing wrong but it was painful to shoot about 75 rounds. My Kimber I have put 500 rounds through her one range session and my shoulders were the only thing getting tired.

So I just went to the store to look at 4 inch 1911's. Are they ALL tool required for take down? Do any of them have barrel bushings?

I just put 150 through my New Agent this afternoon...fun, fun, fun. trigger finger feels fine...

(FWIW about the same through my Baer Custom Carry, and about 100 through my P7M13...it was a good day...).

4" are usually bushingless.

Look at a real commander-length (4.25") if you want standard take down...alnd the ability to run a GI-style recoil setup instead of a FLGR.

Three words:
He's Left Handed

There's something missing on this side. Sure, you can add one - but at a starting price of about $900 or more it should come with it.

Good point...could be modified with an ambi safety fairly easily, though.

And he did say he was looking at 1911's.
