XD-S comparison to XDM 9mm compact, G36, J frame and Sig P938 9mm
I'm sure a lot of people are wondering how the XD-S stacks up against other similar sized pieces. I didn't include the Shield because there are already some photos comparing the 2 floating around.
On to the pics:
XD-S and XDm compact 9mm
XD-S and G36
XD-S and Sig P938 (Extreme) 9mm (It comes with another mag that is flush)
XD-S and Taurus 9mm
The XD-S is a bit large for pocket carry in jeans, but it fits fine in large pocket cargo shorts. It also fits the holsters for the Shield very well. Now the P938 will make a great pocket carry.

No problem! Figured it'd give people that haven't received their XD-S yet a good idea of it's dimensions. Especially compared to it's biggest competitor; the G36. Which the XD-S is smaller.

Hey man thanks alot for the pic compare.
I've been looking at G36 for some time but have been trying to hold out for the XDS to be released, now I just go to find one in my area. Which feels better in yoy hand between the XDS & G36? Already own the Shield 9mm which I think is an awesome little pistol w/a great trigger IMO.

I just got it yesterday, with the XD-S. But so far I LOVE it. Fits my hand like a glove. It sorta fits in the Shield holster (I'm waiting for a CBST) and just disappears. For a little gun, it is heavy, though. It comes with a 7 round extended that you see in the pic and a 6 round flush mag.

No problem. I definitely prefer the feel of the XD-S in MY hand. Although I can completely understand why some prefer Glocks now.

Your welcome. I don't have a scale. The manufacturers have them listed, though. The sig or Taurus are by far the heaviest.

I know I'm bumping up an old thread, but I just wanted to clarify that the P938 has a flush capacity of 6+1, and extended of 7+1.

You're correct. I edited my post. At this point, I carry my XDS the most. Mostly because my XDsc was with James for a refinish. But now I'll go back to my XDsc and use the XDS for deep cover.
