XDs 40?

Does anyone know it they will be coming out with the 40 cal version of this pistol. I would think that they would but with my luck I have to be sure
I've been waiting for something like this from Springfield for a while and I am totally excited.

9mm and 40 have already been announced as being next on the schedule once the 45 gets up and running.

There is not a definite timeline for the announced 45 version let alone future models.

Thanks for the quick replies. Guess it's gonna be another one of those "hurry up and wait" deals

I predict the M&P Shield will be in .40 before the XDs in .45 gets released.

Seeing as the Shield .40 was already slated to go into production once the first run of 9mms was done, it probably will beat the XDs .45 to market.

Supposed to be being the key phase.
It's not... and probably won't be until Mid May.
The M&P Shield 9mm IS out now, but I'm not going to make any purchase decisions until I've rented both.

Difficult decision. Fired the XDS .45 last weekend, really nice gun, but I would prefer in 9mm. The range had only 2 S&W Shields and sold both on Saturday. None for rental.
Examined 9mm Shield this morning, really nice feel and liked the trigger better than the standard trigger on the XDS.
I don't think any pricing difference will be a factor for me.
It may be the availability makes the decision.
