XDs Update
This weekend, my LGS is having a machine gun shoot with a few vendors showing up to let people try out. Springfield is one of these vendors. For the last two weeks i have been inquiring(read: stalking) my gun store about which guns SA will be brining. Well the guns arrived today(shipped seperately) and i finally got my answer. NO XDS! i was crushed! HOWEVER!! He did share a little information as he has been on the phone with a rep for the last few days. SA said that they will be shipping out in the first or second week of April. They wanted to make sure that all the "bugs" have been worked out in order to ensure a smooth release with no big "recalls/problems". I can understand that. On to the new news......
SA rep also told my LGS that an extended magazine will be offered. That is offered seperately. A 7rd magazine will be available and they are trying to produce as many as they can before release so that people can get them together.
Just figure i'd pass this info along as im sure alot of people are getting as ancy as I am.

Keep the extended magazine as a spare and voila, 13 rounds of .45 at your service.

I've already got 13 rounds of .45 at my service, and I don't have to switch mags.

sure would like to have one of these for CC but already bought a xdm 9mm compact. Seems like as soon as you get something new they come out with something better.

At least SA has commited to saying they will be releasing 9mm and .40 versions this year. I would really like to shoot the .45 and if hard to control, wait for 9mm. Im just afraid a very small, light .45 is going to be quite a bit of recoil.

 Ya, but looks intimidating when I pull it out... physiological warfare....  Besides, whats a couple of pounds here or there when you already have 230 of them anyway?

14 here, sometimes I do prefer the 9 rd mag on the XDm for EDC lately
Right now I've got 20 rounds of .45 acp at my disposal on my person, a 9 rd mag in the gun plus one in the chamber and a 10 rd XD compact mag on my belt as a back up. .
