XDS and roll pins
I was all ready to get the new XDS and all. I am a XD Service owner. I love the HS/S.A. polymer pistol. But I have thought it out and I have decided to not buy the XDS . I have a Glock Gen 2 G30 and it is very reliable. The plus is that it has all solid pins and no "roll pins" . I can detail strip my G30 in a heartbeat. I like the XDS butI will wait on it until it has solid pins. I can detail strip my Glocks in seconds unlike my XD9 with roll pins.
Listen us HS/S.A. use solid pins ! Just my $.02
Like I said , I like S.A./HS but I just cant get used to roll pins.

Really? You're deciding on a gun based on detail stripping pins which you would likely never have to do in the guns lifetime?
Your loss.

Didn't someone in another XD-S thread write that it doesn't have roll a pin?
(Goes off to look)
But either way... Did someone threaten you if didn't buy an XD-S?
[Edit] Hmm... By Roll Pin, were you meaning the striker pin? If so...
Where's the striker retaining pin? [/Edit]

I'd imagine you could replace the pin pretty cheaply. I've seen stronger roll pins available for the XD's
Here it is, $12 XD/XDM STRIKER RETAINER PIN SET - Brownells

i love how bashers immediatly have to stand up for their glock.

I take issue with his unwillingness to purchase a pistol based on an unconfirmed detail, not that he prefers his Glock. No problem with preferring one pistol over another, but let it be for an actual reason such as ergonomics, features or actual reliability issues.
