XDS vs. Khar Arms PM45

I have been looking for a CCW pistol in .45acp for sometime now. I was about to buy a Khar Arms PM 45 util I saw the announcement for the XDs. Now I am waiting until the XDS comes out. I think they are pretty much the same pistol if you are looking at the specs so I think it is now about price. One advantage for the Khar PM45 is is lighter at only 19.3 oz. What do you think?

I would worry about the recoil. As for the XD if it is as good as other models it should be a winner though I would wait a year or so for others to test it out.

The Kahr PM45 has the super long Kahr trigger, while the XDs does not.

I will certainly buy a XDs over the PM45 (and I EDC a Kahr CM9 now, so that tells you what I think of the trigger)

i dont have a pm45 but do have a pm9, the pm9 might have a long trigger pull but its very smooth(the gun has no safety so the long pull is the safety), the downfall of a kahr is the price. not sure what the xd's' will sell for but i paid near $700 for my pm9. kahrs do have a feel of quality. i have no regrets about my pm9 and love the thing plus its accurate. when i bought the pm9 springfield had no pistol in this class or i probably would have bought the springfield(i'm partial to SA). kahrs are quality but its all personal preference.

In all reality the Kahr is a wider pistol, taller, and the trigger (while smooth) is not going to be as quick as the XD-S (in my hands, based off my experience with a Kahr P9 and my XD45c). Sure, it's lighter by about one ounce, but I'm not going to notice a 10% redux in weight when the two of them are already so light. The price between the two has a huuuuge delta, and yes, that's going to affect my choice in a carry pistol since it may be confiscated as evidence after a self defence scenario plays out.

XDs + Crimson Trace for the price of PM45.

In addition, I trust SA > Kahr to make a quality weapon that goes bang every time. Buddy of mine just bought a BNIB PM9 for CC.....and it is at Kahr already due to FTF/E issues.

Google the PM45 and you will find pages of issues people are having with them. Not worth $700.

Have handled and shot the PM40 and PM45. They are decent guns. The PM40 has one heck of a sharp muzzle flip. That said, I'm still leaning towards the XDs despite the fact that I have not handled or shot it. I like the form (ergonomics) and function (trigger, take-down, and safeties) of the XD/XDm series of handguns more than the Khar. I don't like the long trigger squeeze of the latter. I am also able to get quicker and more accurate follow-up shots with XD/XDm pistols as opposed to with the Khar pistols.

I like my CM-9 tremendously and will consider the PM-45 if the XDs is less gun than it seems. I'm hoping Kahr will bring out a CM-45 to compete on price. The revolver-like trigger does take a little getting used to but I find I can do a mag dump with my CM-9 at about as fast a rate as my other guns other than my XD-9Service with the PRP trigger.

The XDs IS heavier than the PM-45 but it has a steel locking block up front ( and perhaps even in the rear ) and I like that in a 45, plus the grip safety.

I had a Kahr PM45. Good but not great. And the XDS os actually 19.5 empty, not 21.5... Just paid $550 for the XDS. My PM was much more and almost two years ago.
