Hell, build it with high capacity and when they ban anything over 10 rounds, modify the mags like they did with all guns produced after the ban. Simple solution. The firearm companies have been there before. When and if the ban expires, start producing hi-cap mags again.

I also am concerned with another ban on certain things. I hope that if there is going to be a ban that Springfield has a chance to get the XDm 45 out before hand.

Wow, thanks guys for all of your insight (seriously). After the discussion took place I decided that I would break down and just buy the XD 45. So I did!

Both of my friends:

The XDM 9:

And the Compact XD 45:

I shot the 45 today and man what a difference. My dad shot through the 10 round mag and he couldn't wipe the smile off of his face for an hour. He said he felt pretty wimpy with his S&W M&P 9 after shooting my 45. It is one hell of a gun and is now the gun in my nightstand

I have my CCW class on the 17th!! I need to buy a holster now

nice

Congrats Mikey'sXDM. Those are a nice couple of firearms you have there. And being able to share the experience with your Dad makes the experience even better.

Congrats again. Enjoy and stay safe.

Man ... I am so right behind you on this... I finally found a local shop that had the 4" XD 45 compact in stock and held it, expecting to be disappointed since all of the compact/subcompact pistols I've held to date were rather awkward, but this was just... perfect...

Now I have to explain to my lovely wife why I need another XD after just getting an XDm 9... wait now, that one can be HERS... yeah, right, that may just work!

I was told by a friend that a .45 would be offered in XDm, in about two months. Don't know how reliable the info was or who he got it from, but he is a Springfield dealer. Not that anyone else is interested, but he didn't know anything on if they will offer the weapon in .357 sig or not. Again, no clue how accurate the info is, but I was picking up some XD(m)'s from him and thought to ask while I was there since I had seen this thread beforehand.

On a side note, bought the xdm 9mm in bi tone for my wife while I was there, fell in love with it, went back today and picked up a .40. So in a few months if the .45 comes out I'll have a .40 for sale

I have the XDM 9 and XDM 40, and the XD45. I also Emailed SA about a new XD, but not a 45, a 10mm. Response was " I don't know of any 10mm XD pistols being in the work now. It has been brought to sales attention numerous times from several customers inquires though. Thank you for your business."

I would LOVE an XD or XDM 10mm. Its the only reason I bought a Glock.
