Agreed. I love my XD .45 Compact. It really is no bigger than my Glock 23 and it is a .45!! I am seriously considering replacing my Glock 27 with an XD 40 Sub Compact.

I have to agree with bullit. I can't imagine that they are bringing out the 9 and the 40 without a 45 close on their heels. The XD45 has been a good seller for them and they will certainly capitalize on that reputation.
One of the delyas may be that they are trying to figure out how to keep the MSRP out of the $7xx range. That tends to slow some folks down when you wander into Sig and Kimber range.

I noticed alot of people wanting a .45. Why is it so popular ? I dont see any law enforcement or military with it . We were shooting some 100yd targets and the guys with the 45 acp pistols had problems with major bullet drop. Am I missing out by not have a 45acp ??

The debate over "knock down power" can go on forever of 45 vs other calibers. The military, and I mean in the **** troops want a 45, ask most LEO, and if they had the option to carry a 45 they would. For most defense related situations (inside say 21') I'll take a 45 any day. A 45 makes a bigger whole (BG bleeds more) and over penetration is less. Just my 2 cents. If I'm plinking at 100 yards, a 9mm would offer me a better chance |

On another note, we now have Obama in office and he is going to do some heavy changes in the gun industry.
