i dont see how bad primer strikes are caused by trigger mods, if you changed out the striker spring I can see that happening.

when installed correctly the striker clears the striker safety with out any issues. I think that this is what the concern with light primer strikes was referring to.

I'm sorry, I'm fairly new to handguns and their trigger systems. I can identify where the larger part would go but I'm not sure where the smaller part ends up? Is this something new or does it replace another part? Also what is involved in the fitting? I'm fairly confident in my skills to do my own work but would hate to get in over my head.

The over travel stop is over sized and needs to be fit. The safety lever may need to be fit as well. It all depends on how the tolerances stack up on your particular pistol.
