I too have 3000+ through my "M". I have a hard time remembering the parts to guns let alone working on them. Where should I look for this wear/broken part? Can you tell me where to look in an easy way? I looked around and didn't see anything out of place. Thanks.

That'll shake the bugs out of it.

So how does it feel after firing a couple hundred rounds??? I mean the grip texture, if it's still stock. I have read a few posts about it being too aggressive and painful after a good range day.
It gets better and better, no pain here. I go 300-500 rounds each time I shoot. It's great.

That is why I did not like the fact they added those parts. We remove them in our work and you have to pull the trigger to remove the slide, just like we do on 80 series 1911's.

do you think that the failure is caused by all the upgrades you have done to the gun? i am wondering how mods affect the long term durability of a pistol. I am considering getting a trigger job on a smith & wesson revolver, but if it will couse noticibly more wear then i will not do it. i have an XDm also with around 1500 rounds down the tube with no failures.

I have not had a chance to take a picture of the failed part on my XDm just yet. But if you look at your XDm users manual there is a Frame Parts List and I believe its part number "52" on that list. The diagram on that page will make it easier for you to understand what part I am talking about.

I have also thought about taking it completely out like what Loves2Shoot has done. The way I see it with it out there is less to fail. I don't mind pulling the trigger to disassemble the pistol.

That’s what happened to my “M” couple of weeks ago. I only had about 300 rounds on it before that happened to my M. SA sent me a RMA via email. It took them about 1.5 weeks to ship it back to me. I took it out last Saturday to a local shooting competition and shot about 400 rounds with 0 issues. SA customer service was great to work with.

XDM-BLITZ822> That is good to hear, but I don't want to have my XDm out of commission for a week and a half for "Warranty Work". If they don't want to send me a replacement bar under warranty I might just go without it. Its not like its hurting anything not being in there.

Well I heard back from SA. They currently don't stock the disassembly bar as a seperate part that they can sell or send me. I would have to send my XDm back into them to get it repaired. I think at this point I am just going to leave that bar out and pull the trigger to disassemble it from now on. I don't want my XDm to be out of commission stuck in Warranty world for a couple of weeks just to get another disassembly bar put in it that will probably just fail the same way in another 3000 rounds.

well i guess i need to take a closer look at my xdm as well because i have put probably a little over 3000 rounds through it. the good thing is that i have shot 3000 rounds and never had one failure. on my birthday i shot 4-250 round boxes. yeah thats 1000 rounds in one day with no problems. i wanted to see if it could hold up to extrermely fast shooting, so i loaded all 5 of my clips and proceded to shoot through them as fast as i could. i would mow through one let it hit the dirt while i put another in and this continued through all 5 clips with no fail to feed or any other problems. i love this gun.

HoustonXD-M> The only thing that I worry about on the XD pistols and shooting tons of rounds in a short period of time is the heat of the metal parts verses the plastic frame. I am sure that you can shoot enough at once get the main trigger/lock block hot enough to melt or deform the plastic frame. I have shot enough rounds all at once to make the trigger hot enough that it is too hot to touch for very long. Thats when I know I am pushing the envelope and give it a chance to cool down.
