No I stimpled the grip. I just finished it up last night. I am impressed the way it turned out, Even if I do say so myself. It took me a while to get up the nerve to do it, but I just took my time. I have been using grip tape on my XD's but this is 100 times better.

I used a soldering iron. There are several patterns and techniques I have seen people use. I have even seen a "swirl" technique done on a few STI's used in competition. I just used a tip that had a small point and used it to melt small indentions.

I just bought my second springfield, an XDM .40 Bi-Tone and really think the Fusion finish would be neat...anyone do this? got pics?

I shopped a few months back for my xdm the ones i saw had a black case, when i bought my bi tone today, it had a od green case...doent really matter just thought it was weird...anybody else get an od green case with theres? Im going to fab up one from diamond tread aluminum, for my xdm and my walther p22.
by the way...if anybody has a black xdm case and lives near omaha nebraska and wants to trade for a OD Green one...id trade you...

i would keep the case that came with the gun. it has the stickers with the serial number on it. i wish my case was OD green though, since my gun is. weird.
