Yes, they are both black. Look close and that is about what they have in common.

xdm match grade barrel question

on the springfield custom shop list there are two different match grade barrels listed. one is a custom sprinfield match grade barrel the other is a barsto match grade barrel which is much more expensive.

What's the difference between the two?

what kind of "match grade" barrel is in the xd m?

what kind "match grade" barrels does efk firedragon make?

My apologies if this has been posted before (I didn't read all the posts).

Did you see the "Introductory Videos" on the XDm on Springfield's website? There are 6 or 7 of them, demonstrated by Rob Leatham.

I'm not sure if I'd want one of these....

Thats why we need an XD M forum.

Dave, believe me, you DO want one. I have many pistols including the M and it is climbing up in the ranks very quickly.

Today I was in Lubbock Texas again, First I visited a store with a huge selection of guns and noticed 2 XD(m) pistols on display. The All black pistol (Identical to the one I own, which I was carrying at that moment) they were retailing for $719 The Bi-tone pistol was retailing for $769 or $779 (I forget which). I next went to another gunshop one on display (also Identical to the one I was carrying) and Randy was retailing it for $549. BTW, When I bought mine I purchased it from the second shop I visited today. There was $170 dollars difference on the same exact guns, now I can't understand how any store stays in business selling at that kinda price.

Just for my knowledge, why are efk firedragon barrells poor?? how do you compare "match grade" barrels to know which one to buy? which one is quality? Everyone boasts their brand of barrel, but how do I as a consumer know what I am getting? SAme for the springfield "match barrels" if there are two of them listed on their custom shop list, how do you know which one to get?

more importantly, which one is in the XDM?? And is there a difference?

I've seen more than a few EFK NM barrels that are severely undersized. By that I mean they drop in and rattle in the slide with the slide closed.

SA is now making their own "match" barrel to my understanding.

As far as a consumer goes, that can be difficult, as everyone prefers a product for their own reasons. If you buy several of all the products and compare them, then the differences become more pronounced.

Because not everyone shops around. They rely on uneducated first time gun owners to fall in love with it, here how hard they are to get, and think they are getting a smashing good deal.
