Interesting.

According to SA, the current Service Model has a 4" barrel, and the Tactial has the 5". I thought this 4.5" was gonna be in the middle of the two.

The SA site says the Tactical barrel length is 5"-5.01"

im was almost certain that the compact was 3" service was 4" and tactical was 5".... and i was just on the SA sight and saw no 4.5"... which i really like a 4.5" barrel just like my Sig P226, not to big not to small.

Hmmm...If the XDM .40 mag holds 16...

I wonder how many the 9mm flavor will hold !!!

The current XD full-size .40 mags hold 12 so that's an increase of around 30% in capacity in the new XDM .40 16-round mags.

The current XD full-size 9mm mags hold 16, so I'm thinking with the same percentage increase it could possibly mean an additional 5+ rounds to put it up to 21 round mark in a XDM 9mm mag! Rock on baby!

I'm just dreaming, but that would be mighty schwanky! Anything from 18+ rounds would be very nice indeed.

The more I look at the XDM, the more it grows on me. Darth Vader as a pistol comes to mind.

Well, if I understand it correctly, the original XD40 mags did not have a true dual stack magazine and therefore limited the capacity of rounds. However, correct me if I am wrong, but the 9mm mags are true dual stack in the current XD's so the increased capacity might not be nearly as significant as it is with the xd40.

The first picture I saw I didn't like, but I really think I like it. I was looking at getting a .40 tactical so this may fit the bill.

Thanks to Bar-Sto I've got the barrels covered for you. The guide rod is not a big deal to make in 4.5'. I think that Springer Precision has the Bar-Sto barrels as well.

9mm conversion barrel in this thing now your talking capacity.

So its about $100 more than the regular model.....guess I can save my money. I have to wonder who they are gearing this to? IF no .45 is planned and only the calibers .40,9mm and mabey a .357sig with only 1 barrel length then who did they think would buy it.....other than people wanting the new wiz-bang gizmotron.

Well I'll make a guess and say the 9mm will hold 20+1rds with a +4 capacity.
