Anyone have accuracy issues with the XDm 3.8 Compact in 9mm?

This is a discussion on Anyone have accuracy issues with the XDm 3.8 Compact in 9mm? within the XD-M Discussion Room - XD(M) forums, part of the XD Talk category; No accuracy issues for me. That is at around 6-7 yards. Maybe others don't consider that accurate enough? I'm pleased with those groups....

Hey 57K, any chance you know someone else that has the 9C, or could rent one at a local range? To me it would be worth the effort to better pinpoint the issue.

My 3.8" 9MM XDM is just as accurate as my 5.25" XDM 9MM. I don't even shoot the competition model gun anymore as it offers no advantage over the smaller 9MM. I'm not the only one who shoots it better. Both of my sons like the 3.8" model better, too.

It also "eats" everything I feed it. Store bought FMJ. reloaded lead 147 grain, 124 grain HPs, 100 grain frangible target, 147 HPs. I'm very happy with it.

No problems here.

I have an XDm 40c and I'm newer to shooting handguns. Mine shoots low left by about a foot from about 20 feet. I studied my aiming by looking in a mirror and found i was naturally aiming the gun down with the sights lined up. When I went to te range It didnt seem to matter where I held it, it just shoots low left.
I put a band aid on the problem by aiming high right and started hitting the bulls eye I was aiming for.

I've shot the Ruger SR40c as well and that was more accurate for me. I might pick one up, but at the time it was on back order for several months.

Has he tried the different backstraps? It made a big difference in my accuracy.

Mine seems accurate enough. It will group fairly well but always 4-6 inches low.

Well, guys, after talking to him yesterday evening, he's thinking seriously about sending it to SA for their custom barrel to slide fit. With extra mags he's got about $850 dollars invested in the XDm C, he might get the carry trigger while it's there. I think he means to keep the XDm 3.8 Compact.
