Strange combination, using the same pistol for conceal carry and home defense.
typicall for home security you would have a full size and CCW a compact/subcampact.
As far as caliber you allready have full size in 9mm, I would delegate that for home defense and get either a DXs in .45 or the Springfield EMP 1911 for CCW
Better to go with the .45 as the .40 is not much more as far as fire power over the 9mm
