They are for the 19 round mags because they are longer and would leave a gap between the mag and grip. The lower capacity mags fit flush. I think you can only get them from Springfield, but I'm not positive on that. If you need more contact them and order some or search around at LGS and see if they have or can get them.

I've haven't seen any other maker put that type of piece on the market yet, so I assume Springfield is the only place you could purchase them.

I'm using my #2, but if you or anyone else would be interested in trading your #2 for my #1 or #3 I'd be interested. These appear to be sold out everywhere and Springfield customer service told me 6-8 weeks backorder or longer is to be expected, no matter what you are buying from them.

I'd love to trade you but Mine didn't come with number 2, just 3 &1.

I guess I'd have to look into something else or a custom made version.

Your number 2 is probably the one currently installed. I just picked up a XDm40 Compact last night and the medium (#2) straps are already installed on the gun and extended mag.

Edit: Forgot to say welcome from Iowa! Glad to have you on board. Warning though, 9mm ammo seems to be impossible to find in most areas. Hope you have plenty for some range time with it.

Congrats. I got the last XDm 9 mm at the Cabelas in Fort Worth last Saturday. Have not been able to find ammo anywhere, so ordered some online from Cabelas last night. It is supposed to be delivered by next Friday

9mm is slowly starting to come back here in south western ohio the gun shops never completely ran out but they did get down to the lower end ammo only. My walmart has a 2 box per person limit right now to help replenishment.
