concealed carry
hello all,
i am in the market for a new concealed carry pistol and was wanting some opinions on the XDm 3.8 45 acp as being it. i am 5'11" and about 155lbs. i want a pistol with more punch than my .38s offer. i will be carrying it while hiking (with my CZ 52 for bears and mountain lions) and as my stand alone CC for out and about. any info, tips, and ideas are welcome.

Welcome to the Forum!

I'll be the first to suggest you check out the XD-S. I believe it's an tout standing CCW choice.

well that is another option but i really like the idea of more rounds and more gun to hang onto. i have held the XDm but not the XDs.

It occurred to me that you might be interested in higher capacity. You ought to at least check one out before you decide. I love mine.

I love my XDM, (It's a .40 but would be similar size). I'd have a really hard time concealing it.

The XDM compact may work for you. It's got a similar size barrel to the 3.8 AND a shorter grip to make it easier to conceal. It also has a full length grip/magazine so you have the extra rounds when needed.

The XDM of any type is a great firearm!!

I will tell you what you want to hear. But only because its true. The XDm 3.8 in 45 is an awesome gun. You will love it and I carry between the 9/40/45 in the 3.8 all the time.
