Come on Springfield where is my 10mm

This is a discussion on Come on Springfield where is my 10mm within the XD-M Discussion Room - XD(M) forums, part of the XD Talk category; I don't think it would be that hard to make a .40 cal 10mm barrel, magazine and recoil spring. To work in the 45 frame. ...

man, you can just thank all the .40 fan boys AND GIRLS for not having a 10 mm XD! but basically thank the female FBI agents that complained about the 10 mm round...and some of the sissy FBI male boys too i guess way back in the late '80s/90s! i now HATE a .40 round b/c of this history!

the 10 mm semi-auto ACP pistol/round was great! but you will not see it on the XD line i don't think. the end .40 rant over!

It would involve a lot of retooling; you couldn't just use a .45 slide, the breechface is different. In short, if they thought it would be profitable, they'd do it.

And SA used to make a 10mm 1911; the Omega.

It may still be a Custom Shop option.

I wish they would just slip in a full size XD 10mm out of no where in their line up. doesn't need to be an XDm.

Even easier then that, just get a 10mm chamber reamer and lengthen the chamber in your .40! They both use the same size bullet.

Not NEARLY as easy as that.

The 10mm cartridge is longer, and will not fit in a .40 magazine.

Nor would it fit in the magwell of a .40.

It will not eject from a .40 ejection port.

In short--it needs to be a completely new design pistol.

Heck, HS/SA won;t even make a .357 Sig XDm...and all that takes is a different barrel in a .40. Not cost effective...

they aren't going to retool to make a caliber that's just not that popular anymore.

difference in length = .125 easily fixed if you reload!

Most mags have that much extra room.
