Last year, there was a bunch of whining... People saying "If I'd have known about this before I bought my XD (or XDM) in August (or July, I'd have held of for a month or two".
Well... I've been mentioning the deal in various threads all Year (especially in the XD-S and XDM forums), so if people miss out, it's because they didn't read.
Oh yeah... There's no guarantee that SA will hold the offer again this year, or if it will be extended to the XD-S... It's simply a bunch of us HOPING they'll repeat the offer to all the XD variants.

I thought about this but the want/need to have a gun in the house was greater than wanting to wait for 3 more mags so I'll have to suck it up...
That or buy another :-p

I guess it all boils down to the difference between Needing to buy, having some money burning a hole in one's pocket and simply wanting a new pistol with a great incentive deal.
I don't NEED a new pistol, my pockets are lined with Nomex and the Gear-Up makes for a good excuse to hold off for a little while longer.
Plus... With the availability of Some mags being scarce, this is one guaranteed way got getting 3 spare mags relatively quickly.
If the deal doesn't happen... No Problem. I'm not really losing out on anything.

Not looking very promising on another "Gear up" promo this year. Too bad, it would have been nice to get some free mags with an XD9SC or an XDS. I'll still look at buying one, but it might have encouraged me to buy one sooner.

Yeah... If they'd have done the Gear-Up, I would be scraping up the funds to get an XD-S this Fall (as I don't really Need an XD-S, but the extra free mags would have made it too tempting).
