XDm airsoft line....
So some people have seen the XDm from the well know Japanese manufacture Tokyo Mauri. Well another company in Taiwan called "WE" made one like theirs but added metal slide. Now they added the 3.8 and the compact to their line. Looks like a nice trainer for my compact...though I still have mods on my compact that are on my waiting list  .

Cause I'm having something special done to my XDm compact slide it would be interesting if I could switch out the slide, barrels and springs. I doubt, but Im waiting for the compact. I currently can't get out to the range as much as I want, so practicing shots from a draw with an airsoft would help.

If you remove *a lot* of weight from the slide - but more importantly, provided that the dimensions between the airsoft and real-steel are actually close - that may be possible. You may have to play with the recoil-spring rate, and possibly even the valving on the gas system (both that of the gun's as well as the magazines').
The barrel would depend heavily again on the fit issue, as well as how the barrel lug area is configured.
