XDs or XDm

Thinking about hitting the gun show this weekend to trade / sell my XDs for the XDm 3.8 45, I think the only reason is for more capacity plus reliability. I have a few hundred flawless rounds through my XDs but I just fell in love with the 3.8 once I handled it at my LGS. What are your thoughts being an XDm forum, This would be my cc and 1 of 3 range guns.

thanks for any information...

Honestly both IMO. We have hot summers and cold winters. Winter is easy for the XDM but summer can be more difficult. TX does not get the cold winters we do but the smaller frame could be nice.

Glad to hear your XDS is working reliably for you. I've noticed that you've got two .380s. Why keep those if your XDS can easily replace them? Some people would just sell their most unreliable gun and on your list of guns that would probably be the Sig P238 unless it was purchased only recently. It took Sig a few revisions to get that gun to behave reliably.

I had issues with my Sig P238 even after I sent it back to Sig it still had issues granted rarely but I traded it in on a 9mm there are many small and easy to carry 9s now. Maybe trade the sig for the xdm and save up for a Colt Mustang if you need to have a .380 in 1911 format.

I have both the XDS and the XDM 3.8 45 C, LOVE them both, great guns. Each have their place in what I do with my guns. I really like the XDS single stack 45 for CC, lighter and smaller, easier to conceal. I also carry the XDM 45 double stack, mostly when out and about my place where I have a lot of wild animals, gives me more rounds just in case, and it's my nightstand gun, alongside my shorty shotgun. I figure if for whatever reason one or the other might be disabled, off for repair, whatever, I'd at least still have a 45 to use as needed. You have a hard decision for sure, I made it easily by choosing to have both.

I, personally, have a bit of trouble concealing my XDm compact. It's just a little too large and if I'm not careful, it prints. This is in summer clothes; a t-shirt and shorts. So I prefer to carry my XDs or my XDsc 9mm.

I have to second having both or trading one of your .380s for what you want.

I have both, the XDS & XDm 3.8" .45c & I would not trade either. Both have there places IMO. I think you'll regret trading the XDS.
