Conversion question
I have a xdm .40 3.8 bitone od/black with a full size frame. I'm gonna get a xdm compact and I want 9mm. My question is can I use my .40cal barrel in the 9mm compact for the conversion?

The slides and frames are interchangeable. That is the better way to go than swapping barrels. The .40 slide from the full size frame will fit on the 9mm compact frame. .45's are different, but any XDM .40/9 slide will fit on any other XDM .40/9 frame. This goes for 3.8's, 3.8c's, 4.5's and 5.25's.

And I believe the hole in the 9mm slide where the barrel exits is too small for the .40 barrel.

you can use 9mm barrels in .40 cal guns but not the other way around.
