I can go through 100 rounds in 30 minutes or 25 rounds in an hour, depends what my goal is for the trip.

Sometimes I'm just breaking a gun in and just trying to hit paper, other times I'm working on draw, point shooting, etc, etc, etc.

Really depends on what the plan is - just shooting targets, I'd bring 200 rounds - not like you can't shoot what's left another day.

Tonite I shot 2 PPC matches. They are timed, and there's 10-15 minutes between matches (to reset targets, police brass, reload magazines, etc). Some strings are 1`2 shots in 25 seconds, other are 24 in 2:45 seconds. they allow 1/2 hour per match, so I was there an hour and shot 120 rounds.

I went to the range on monday to test 8 different reloads in my XD and sight in a new scope on a rifle. BS'd a bit with a gent there. I was alone so no waiting on anyone to clear the line, etc. 2.5 hours, 160 pistol rounds and 40 rifle rounds. This is way slow as I was documenting the results of the pistol and started close on the rifle and moved the stand back and back again. Lots of walking and not shooting.

I'd say, on a normal target shooting trip, 150/rounds an hour give or take.

In an hour I could probably go through 2-4 boxes. I try to be conservative when at the range. I only load 5 rds per mag. And lately ive been taking the time to dry fire at least a couple times before each mag. I'm sure I could blow through much more ammo in an hour, but my wallet and wife would hate me. That's if I'm shooting my 9 or .45. The other day I took only my .22's to the range and shot about 400 rds in an hour and a half.

I usually bring between 200 and 500 rounds, depending on if I'm alone or have company. I don't always use that much, but I'd rather bring too much than be disappointed I ran out of ammo right as I'm getting really into it, and there's no way in hell I'm buying ammo at the range.

My usual load for a trip to the indoor range is 100 - 150 rounds of .40 and a box of 500+ of .22.

Start with the .22 to get warmed up.

When shooting the .40, usually only put 5 - 7 rounds in each mag and work on reloads while shooting as well as other skills....

Then finish with the .22.

If the box of .22 is full when I start it is maybe 1/2 empty when done.

The .40 I may use 100 rounds - 150 rounds... maybe.

Like reponse above, depends on what skills I'm working that day.

Lots of variables to consider with this question. If I bring out just my handgun, I typically bring out about 200 rounds which last me about an hour.

Here's the best part, take more than you need! Next time take even more. Keep putting the leftover aside and in a few months, you'll have a nice starter collection of ammo

I usually take 150 rounds when I take my 9mm to the range, 500+ rounds when I'm shooting the .22 rifle and pistol.

Having 6 mags for my XDm 9 I can easily plow through 150 rounds in 30 minutes if I'm just punching holes in paper. Like others have said, it depends on what you're looking to do that day...

When I'm target shooting out at the house, I average 150 rounds per half hour.
