I have the full size and the compact xdm 45 and I wouldn't trade either of them, they are both reliable and accurate. I do have night sights and the PRP drop in trigger kit on both of them which really makes them a top notch pistol.

I have a 9mm withthe PRP ultimate trigger and a new 45, both 5.25 XDm's. The 45 is harder to shoot well because of the trigger, not bad but not as good as the 9mm. There willbe a PRP trigger kit in the future. I have had a couple of stovepipes in the 45 in the 800 rounds so far but I expect no more after 800 rounds. The 9mm hasen't skipped a beat in 6200 rounds. The small 45 grip feels really close to the 9mm with the small grip.

Not to hijack....Am I missing something? I thought as far as a trigger kit was concerned, they were the same between the 4.5" and 5.25"? From bone stock, my 4.5" hasn't had a single failure in over 1,000 rounds (I don't keep exact count....no need....the gun is awesome!), and I am insanely accurate with it now, too. I love my XDm .45acp!

If you are a average shooter like myself, the trigger is great out of the box, I have shot allot and while some better than others, I love the XDM and XD stock trigger all day.

The bad: Ammo is expensive.
The good: It's a real hammer.

I like the factory trigger on my XDm9 4.5 but I like the PRP trigger kit even better.
Update: I now have the PRP UMT kit in my XDm9 4.5 you can't go wrong with PRP trigger kits no matter which one you get.

I was pretty happy with the factory trigger on my XD(m) 45, until I tried one with a PRP trigger. The difference was like night and day.
I put a PRP Ultimate Match trigger in mine, and love it. No regrets at all.
Thanks,
Duane
