Which XDM is your favorite?

I prefer the XDM 3.8. I think the slide being flush with the frame makes it look awesome! Plus its just as accurate as the 4.5

Pretty Close, but not 100% as accurate.. IMO anyway..

My buddy has a 3.8 (like my 9mm) & when we square off at the range I outshoot him everytime with my 4.5..

then we switch & he out shoots me with mine, lol..

so there you go..the 3.8 definitely looks good, but I wouldn't say it's just as accurate as the longer barrels are gonna be. Which is why the competition model is 5.25" long...way more accurate!

Simple physics my dude !

... not quite physics, more so lining up the sights. It is easier on a longer barrel.

I think they all have a niche depending on the situation, 3.8 is definitely best for carry, but for more accuracy and carry or a hd gun the 4.5 is perfect to me, but for dead on accuracy and a great range gun or competition the 5.25 is bada$$. And for me all bitones

The one to rule them all is the 4.5 with the 3.8 compact frame attached to it. Makes a mighty accurate handgun with a shorter grip

Very true, but can only get that if you have the 3.8 AND the 4.5

Well for ME, my favorite is my XD(m) 5.25" barrel competition series. I like it much better than my 1911.

The longer sight radius, and adjustable sights is a big plus for me.

But, having a longer sight radius, and adjustable sights is not needed, if you are a really good shot (which I am not).

Hickock45 can hit his 80 yard gong with a 1 7/8" barrel S&W 642, with fixed sights.

Look at it about 7:00 minutes into this video.

For us average guys, a long barrel, with a long sight radius, and adjustable sights is a BIG plus.

The point I'm trying to make is that almost ANY gun is more accurate than you are.

Are long sight radius's, and adjustable sights crutches? Maybe so.

I appreciate the crutches myself.

Thanks,

Duane

Mine is becoming my 5.25 9mm. Taking awhile to shoot as good as I shoot my 3" SC, but each 100 round outing I seem to get better. Love the factory fiber sight and that long sight radius. The gun is just a joy to shoot.

I'm in for the 5.25 also. But it's the first hand gun I've ever owned. What a great pistol to get my feet wet.

Sorry that was more cheerleader-ish than factual.
