Weird firing pin strike (pics inside)
The firing pin looks fine, so I am guessing the extractor is trying to eject the casing before the firing pin retracts. Put 100 rounds through it today and not a hiccup, didn't notice until I was cleaning up. Anyone else seen this?
(I only grabbed the three casings that stayed on the table, but I am guessing all of the rest look like this that fell on the floor in the mess of other people's casings.)

Primer wipe. Scared me the first time I saw it on some honest but safe 45 ACP loads. Some loads do it some loads don't. I wouldn't say it was normal but it does not scare me. Other pressure signs such as primer cratering or flattening are a different story.

Happened my first 100 rounds and than stopped. Same brand and type of ammo. I figured it was a break-in thing or something

I would take that and clean it all out , then run it dry in the pin and striker assembly. They dont like oil or grit. I dont consider it correct unless you shooting ammo with too high set primers or have a weak recoil spring . Maybe your milling is a tad off and they need to shorten the firing pin as those look like deep hits.
