3.8 compact guide rod and conversion barrel

Hey guys, I am new to the site but I have tried to do my research with in the already open threads. I am picking up my wifes and my own xdm 40 cal 3.8 compacts tomorrow and have ordered the 9mm bar-stow conversion barrels. I have read where there are aftermarket guide rods out there for the compact but I can not find them on any of the web sites. Can anyone confirm this or if you have one, let me know where you got it from? Next question, will the factory guide rod spring work fine when you drop down to the 9mm conbversion barrel or does the spring need to be changed out? I am seeing mixed opinions on this aswell. If you have a 9mm conversion barrel in the 3.8 compact, could you tell me how it worked out for you?

The stock spring will work fine.

I know this thread is kind of old but I am looking to do this conversion. I would like a 9mm barrel for my 3.8 inch compact 40.

On the Bar-stow website I am only seeing 4" barrels listed as "XD 4".

Is this the barrel that one would purchase to use in a XDm 3.8 or is it for the XD models only?

Edit - OK so I was blind. I found the XDm version but it doesn't specify its length.

"Springfield XDM - This is for the XDM 40. 9mm and 357 sig are conversion barrels"

Anyone know?
