I own XDM .40 3.8 and it's one awesome gun. Accurate, eats anything I put in it, never had a problem. It was my first Xdm purchase for HD/CC. It has a little muzzle flip to get use to but after a few rounds no biggie.

I have the xd9sc and the xdm45c, love them both, if I had to choose one for a 9mm, it would be the xd9sc over the xdm9c, i think it depends on what caliber you want to shoot, which guns feels better in your hands, and which gun you shoot better

My XDM
I have a XDm 3.8 compact in 9MM one of the best guns I have ever had about 1500 rds so far it eats everything I feed it. Best semi auto. I like the grip safety that glock doesn't have

I have the xd-sc9 and the Xdm compact. I love both guns. Would be hard to choose between the two. I will say, the SC is easier for me to carry but both are excellent. Also, I really don't see a big difference in accuracy. Depends on what day I am shooting. If I had to pick only one on being the most accurate, it would be the XDM but, not enough to pick easily and not enough to pay the extra money. Just very similar in my opinion. I own an XD service, the SC, XDM compact. I would say the SC might be the overall best choice when you consider everything involved. Money, Easy to Conceal, Accuracy.

I have the XDm compact in both .40 and 9mm. They are both excellent firearms and I have nothing but positive comments. As other posters have said, it all depends on what feels right to you and what you like after trying them out. Hopefully, there is a range nearby that allows you to rent and shoot. A hundred reviews is easily beaten by 100 rounds fired downrange with both guns. Then you will know for sure.

I just picked up the XDM 40 compact in 3.8. Shot it for the first time last night, 100 rounds. Feels great with the compact magazine as well as the full size. I too was looking at the XDSC or XD40 in 4". I really wanted a 4" barrel but that wasn't available with a short grip. Considered having a new 4" gun cut down to use full size as well as compact mags and couldn't do it. I chose the XDM for the 3.8" barrel and the higher capacity mags. I hope this makes sense.
I'll run a few hundred factory loads through it before I start using my reloads. I've shot lead round nose, flat point plated, FMJ and JHP through my XD45 without issue.

XDM compacts are total CRAP! Kidding.... seriously they are good guns, no Failures to fire or failures to feed and I have shot already 8000 rounds of 9mm. I think everyone's opinion on XD talk is going to be bias towards Xd and XDM products however. I suggest to go to youtube and view Hickok45 reviews or better yet go to a gun range and rent one and see for yourself.
