If you've got big hands, which backstrap?

I'm curious about something: Do folks with larger hands (say glove size XL and XXL) wind up using the larger backstraps most of the time, or the medium or the small?

My 9mm 5.25 came with the medium backstrap on, of course. I usually wear XL or XXL gloves - so, big hands.

Tried the larger backstrap and just didn't feel right. Just for kicks, tried the smaller backstrap, and found I was hitting the X ring a lot more often than with the large backstrap. Whether it was because of the "newness" or what, I don't know - will try another couple hundred rounds tomorrow, but just wondered how many folks wind up using which backstrap?

We wear the same size gloves.
I tried all three, settled on the large.
Felt like I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with the small.
Medium was good, large was better.
After a couple months I switched back to the medium shot about a 50 rounds.
Went home and switched right back to the large.

When I first bought my 5.25 9mm in October I started with the medium. While I was at the range I switched to the small so I could work mag release better. But wasn't happy with shot inconsistency. Tried large strap and was very happy. I have medium hands....normal palm but short fingers. The large strap puts my finger in a good spot for me on the tigger.

I put an extended mag release on later and love it. The pistol works well all around for me now.

One of the reasons that I bought my first XDM was the interchangeble backstraps because I have small hands. After a lot of shooting with all three I found that the No.3 was best for my XDM 9 and the No. 1 for the XDM 45. I think that you have to shoot with all three to tell. It isn't just a matter of hand size.

Why question it?

Go with what works for you...who cares what works for anyone else?

As I mentioned - I'm curious about things, and when I'm curious about things, I often ask questions. Why do you question why I question?

Ya know, I never thought about that. I was going to get a consensus going then let that make my decision for me. I'm so glad you popped in with your suggestion.

Seriously? If you don't have something to add that's on topic, why do you bother to add noise?

Because I see dozens of threads with people getting all wrapped up with (for example) worrying about how other people use their pistols, worrying that they aren't using the "best" ammo, etc, etc, etc.

Like I said--if it works, why sweat it.

Obviously, you're sweating it, and you want to sweat it...so carry on.
