You can just insert a 100% loaded mag (EMPTY round or snap cap on top) and press the release about 200 times. Do it for each mag and they will be significantly smoother and easier.

Although an XD, not a XDm, I was very please with the work performed by Springer Precision :: The XD Specialists. That included fitting a BarSto match barrel and TFOs.

I would suggest a trigger job, not sure you will notice much from a barrel upgrade. Some of the custom finishes our Sponsors offer are pretty cool also, or extended magazines, etc. etc.

Sights, grips or a guide rod are fine. But changing out the trigger could lead to legal issues if you use the pistol for concealed carry and have to pop some @sshole. He (or his survivors) could go after you for using a custom handgun with a "dangerously light trigger". Just playing devils advocate. If you shoot someone you must be prepared to defend yourself from both criminal and civil lawsuits. I work in the private security industy here in NC. Lasers and pistol mounted lights are verboten on our weapons (Private security, NOT for average Joe). Any modification that changes the mechanical functioning of the pistol is not allowed. that means no aftermarket springs, guide rods, barrels, definately NO drop in triggers, etc. Think they won't know? You shoot someone and the police WILL take your weapon as evidence. You kill someone and you can bet the bank it will be throughly gone through by experts paid for by the other party. So while upgrades, modifications and fancy add-ons are cool and everything, be aware of some of the possible consequences. What you think will give you an advantage in a fight might be called a "modification to make a weapon easier to use to kill a person" by some civil attorney.

I dont see how anything like that could affect you in court. Yes you want to make it easier to kill someone if they are trying to kill you. I can see it affecting you if you said Im sorry I didnt mean to shoot them. Then they say well maybe you shouldnt of modified your weapon. If it was a defensive shot though what can they say about the mods? I dont know just doesnt make sense to me but I hate politics and stupid laws.

This concern has been raised on other gun forums as well. I have seen lawyers chime in that they are not aware of a single instance where anyone has won any damages due to a trigger job being done. Besides that, if it's a justifiable shoot how your gun was set up is going to matter exactly zilch. It's just legal paranoia as far as I'm concerned.
