Resale value on the XDM 3.8?
I'm selling my 3.8 .40, which I paid $575 for a little more than a year ago. I'm getting little interest, but the offers I get are ridiculous. Has the value of the xdm 3.8's really dropped that much?

Condition?
Estimated rounds?
Have you seen any used at LGS in your area? if so what are they asking?
I would say around $425 used as a ballpark figure.

I picked up my XDm 3.8 9mm for $425 otd used under 500 rounds a year ago. I went to sell it last year and most offers hovered around that up to $450. Ended up keeping it at the time, and just recently traded it for a PPQ with a $150 diff...So figure I got $375-400 trade value with under 1500 rds of wear. I think the release of the compact hurt the 3.8 value personally.
Just have to find the right buyer and be willing to sit on it for a while. Expect $400-475 is my guess from what people offered about 6 months back.

Sad how fast they depreciate. I picked up my XD9sc new for $500+ after tax just a couple years back. Now, I see them going for $350 used locally. I know that isn't a major hit--especially compared to many of the Kimbers I see locally going for $400 or more (plus tax) below retail. I've started buying most of my firearms used to avoid the tax and get the "depreciation deal." I am also holding on to the XD9sc (even though I have been very tempted to get the XDm 3.8 in .45) because I just can't see "giving away" $100+ on such a fine firearm.

Mine is in excellent condition (maybe one mark from my crossbreed supertuck) with about 450 rounds down the pipe. I haven't seen any used, but I listed it for $425 on my local forum and got one hit already. Once I get this sold, I'll be selling the PRP ultimate match trigger kit I removed from it. I think the aftermarket triggers actually hurt the value.

Just sold mine 3.8 40. Approx 6 months old, ~1200 rounds fired, excellent condition, extra mag, for $475, but had to wait a while. Good news is, it only cost me another $50 to get my PPQ!
Yeah, the compact hurt value, IMHO. But, such is life.

I'm getting a bunch of folks asking if it's compact, then never responding when I tell them it's not. That's annoying. Also getting alot of folks thinking I will take less than $400....not happening.
