I haven't tried any other holsters, I've bought 2 and like them both so I can't say they're better than any others out there.
For OWB I like the Blackhawk Serpa, and for IWB I like the Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe. Again, I haven't compared them to any others out there simply because these were the 2 I bought and I am happy with them so have never felt a need to replace them.
My 4.5 XDM .45 lives in the Serpa, the Crossbreed houses a 3.8 XDM 9 Compact, although they are interchangeable, this is just the way I like to wear them. I'm not concerned whether the .45 shows or not as I'm in Virginia where open carrying is not generally illegal.

+1 for the CB SuperTuck. The one I bought for my XDm 3.8 compact 9mm fits just fine for my XDm 3.8 compact .45, I haven't tried it with my BH Serpa yet but expect it to work well also.

I don't have an XD yet, but I carry a G19 in a Cross Breed Supertuck, and love it.

Carry a 5" XD-45 daily in a Remora holster. Great comfort and concealability.

I am getting my OWB from Tennesseeholster co because they are the only one I found that specifies my XDM .40 3.8" . I'll let you all know how it works for CC. If any one has any other suggestions, p;s share, I have asked this question a number of times to no avail, but I think that's my fault for not being able to find the thread. LOL

I also have the XDM 4.5" .45 and use the CB supertuck. I'm 5'11" and 185lbs and can hide it well with a sweatshirt on. I can see it with a semi-tight shirt. If it's a lose t-shirt it's pretty hidden. I can see it if I look for it but nobody else seems to notice and I've had plenty of company the last couple of weeks

I originally bought a CBST for an XDM 3.8 .40, now I'm looking at the .45. This question may be for Mark. Is there a significant size difference between the two where I would need to buy another CBST? I'm looking at the compact 45
