After concealed carrying an XD40sc for over 3 years and loving it, I wanted to have this pistol available for the wife to carry due to it's power and flawless reliability, so after much debate and research, I bought an XDm45 4.5 as I wanted the full size grip and longer barrel. So I got the 4.5 instead of waiting on finding the new XDm45 Compact. I was thrilled to find that it fits perfectly in my rig I've carried the XD40sc in all this time, a Crossbreed SuperTuck with Crossbreed belt, with no adjustment. I started carrying the XD40sc with the full 12rd with grip extension a while ago after shifting the holster around to the 3:00 position from the 5:00 position I used to carry on, as this made concealing a full size pistol possible for a fat guy like me

. So when I got home with the XDm45 and tried it in the holster, I was thrilled to see there would be very little difference in carry feel, mainly with feeling the longer barrel further down and the slight increase in weight, though both differences are no big deal at all and are barely noticeable when carrying the 45 vs the 40. I can carry with shorts & a loose t shirt this way (at 3:00) with actually better concealment than when I used the compact magazine on the 40sc in the old 5:00 position. The main thing I will have to work on though, is drawing, as the cant being more leaned forward is a different feel than I'm used to, and without practice it makes me draw a bit slower. I'll practice enough to overcome this.
I was wondering who else carries a 4.5 XDm in any caliber, and how you carry it, holster & belt config, etc. What are your experiences with carrying a full size pistol like this? Mine so far are fantastic, I love having a full size pistol with 13+1 rounds of .45ACP on me
