Recoil XDM9SC vs. Full size
Forgive me if this has already been posted but I don't see it,
Does anyone know from first hand experience how the recoil differs from the full size XDM9 to the SC?
I have fired the XD45 and I fell in love with it, but I would like a smaller gun for C&C. The full 45 seems to have virtually no recoil, is the sc9 similar or does it have a more significant punch?

I realized after posting that there is an XD 9mm 3" and an XDM 9mm 3.8"
any opinions between the 2 as well as recoil is greatly appreciated.

I can't answer to the 9mm. But do have both in .40 s&w. The sc is somewhat "snappier" that the 4".

My first XD was a 9mm. sc that I learned how to coneal carry, draw and hit center mass. It's a great gun, however I wanted an XDm so I traded the sc and bought the XDm3.8 in 9mm. The grip is the same lenght as the sc but I like the slightly longer barell and sight radius. (aging Eyes). It fits the same Cross Breed Super tuck as the sc and carries exactly the same. Recoil on a 9mm. of any reasonable size (not KelTec) won't have an objectionable amount of recoil, alibet different from the .45acp which is more of a push than a snap.

I have both, and don't really notice much recoil difference between the 3" XD SC, and the XD(M) 3.8. The SC is not like your typical pocket guns or other compacts, it is a heavy gun, shoots very accurate, most people that have them love them and it becomes one of their favorites to shoot.
Both models let you change magazines and get the feel of a full sized grip gun. If I were just to own one, it would probably be the XD(M) 3.8 Compact, but being I own both, I tend to shoot, carry and use the SC more than any.

Recoil is subjective, but in general smaller and lighter will mean a greater perception of recoil ... Shoot them !!!
You are the only person who can determine what is acceptable.

I have a xdm 3.8 sc, I think the recoil is very minimal. I had a sw sigma 9mm and currently own a sig sp2022, I think the recoil is lower on the xdm than both of those.

Every person is different, but for me the XDsc 9mm has a very managable recoil. I was shooting one this past Sat and it was accurate and fun. As much as my XDm .45 ACP 4.5" bbl.
It is small but is better to carry it in a holster, hardly a pocket gun.

It is barely noticable. I have carried an XD9sc now for almost 3 years. I also have an XDm9. Very little difference.
