First Post... Question on XDM45
Hey everyone,
I am brand new to this forum. I bought my first handgun last weekend, a new xdm .45. I got to shoot just a few rounds through it and so far i love it. I cleaned it before and after i shot it and i just have one question...
When the slide is racked the barrel rattles slightly. It doesnt seem like a big deal but i just want to make sure that this is normal for the barrel to have a tiny bit of jiggle room when the slide is pulled back. When the chamber is closed it does not rattle at all. I do not know if this is something i need to have looked at before shooting it again. Please let me know ASAP as i am going to shoot it again tomorrow.
Thanks!

This happens on all semi-autos...

Yeah all Semi-auto's rattle a little. the barrel is locked tight when the slide is forward and also when the slide is back but in between there isn't anything to hold the barrel so this is all normal. Have fun with the big stick.

I just purchased a XDM 9mm and I was wondering the same thing about the barrel moving while the slide was locked. Glad to hear that's normal, thanks for the answers!
