Can't get the backstrap pin out on XDM Compact
I just received my XDM Compact .40. (Purchased from Kylesgunshop. another smooth transaction for him) Tried to get the pin out using the right size hole puncher. I'm using the one that came with my crimson trace for my glock 23.
I can't get the damn pin out for the life of me and it's frustrating as the sh*t outta me.
I seen a youtube video once before but haven't really searched for it. Can't remember where I found it. Maybe someone has a link?
Does anybody know an easy solution to getting the pin out? I feel like I damaged it already.
Don't know why it is so hard to come out.

try these
FREE videos of the XD and XDM by Springer Precision
the pin is removed easier with a roll pin punch
although I haven't had an issue with a regular pin punch

Im referring to the pin that holds the backstrap on the XDM compact. Trying to change out the backstrap to a different size but the pin holding it will not come out.

Mine was a pain in the ass too- I remember that it's supposed to come out from one side to the other- problem is I can't remember if you're supposed to work it left to right or right to left- I just know it only works one way. I didn't have a punch so used a skinny small flat head and a hammer- really a hammer- it's in there tight hope this helps.

You can take out which ever way you want. I do it from left to right.

I found a nail with a proper sized head, and hammered the pin out by striking the nail on the sharp side, pushing the pin with the blunt side. I was a worried about how much force I was having to apply, but I finally got it out, swapped backstraps, and put it back in without issue. The pin is in there pretty good, and it takes some muscle to get it out.

If you use the proper tools it's a piece of cake, at least mine was.
Punch + Rubber Mallet + Something to get it off the bench (I used a thick catalog).
Second time around I just used the palm of my hand instead of the mallet.
