Other than the obvious flub, it's a good enough video that informed me on how to change out the backstraps on my incoming XDm. Thanks.

Can't go off unless you pull the trigger, right?

True, but it's sickening to not watch the most basic of safety procedures be completely disregarded. Old habits, you know?

I think we are missing the point here. It's not just a pin that holds the backstrap, it's a lanyard pin. If you are the type to use a lanyard to secure your weapon, then that's not something you'd want to just easily come out now would ya? It may be a pain to remove, but it's got a purpose that dictates that it SHOULD be difficult. I'm not looking forward to having to remove it either, but I understand. Just my $.02

It's really not that difficult... It won't just fall out, but it's not like removing seized brake rotors from a vehicle either. Reading some responses you'd think it was.

It's amazing how much easier a pin can be driven out if you can fix the frame in place to keep it from moving with each hit. Just sayin'.

Just bought a brand new XDM .40 3.8" and was going to try and change the backstrap, however there was no pin in mine... Anyone else have this? Also I have been unable to remove the backstrap thus far

If there is no pin in it, it would be easy to remove the backstrap with just your fingers. Are you sure there's not a pin in it?
