Can't find the original XDm guns on the SA website (or XDm web page). XDm discontinued (unlikely), SA trying to force feed us the 3.8, SA webmaster faux pas? If u know the link to the original XDms, appreciate you post here.

thanks,

f1

Springfield Armory - Introducing the XD(m) Polymer Handgun

Most of the links are the 4.5" XD(M)s. Also in the Gallery and Specs, Features plenty of the 'original' XD(M) content.

I guess I'm a moron cause I want one. I was considering buying another XD Service model since I gave mine to my dad a couple of years back and I miss it. I would rather have this one.

Thumbs up

I think the new look of the Service Model is awesome and something I would consider buying for sure. I did not like the original XDm look at all. I would buy an XD tactical before I would buy the original XDm, this new Service Model XDm is sweet looking for sure.

I like it! And, imo, it's an overall good idea. The shorter muzzle does look a little better, it's slightly lighter and maybe somewhat easier to carry, idk, I don't carry my full size M. I don't regret my purchase and wouldn't rush out to buy one of these. I would think either a .45 version of the full size M would've been a better idea or a sub compact with the M features. Then i might consider going shopping.

Anybody have an opinion on going from the 1 piece guide rod to the two piece system? And the 3.8 designation would've gotten a down vote from me had I been in that meeting.

I may be all alone but I like it. I haven't gotten my hands on one but it looks cool. The new serrations ad a really nice style characteristic. If I was to buy one it would be the bi-tone with optional Fiber Optic Sight.

The 3.8" XD(m) 9mm gets my vote. When/if they come out with a .40 S&W I may buy one to add to my already growing collection of .40 S&W pistols.

StangerDanger.... You better be Korean like me or I will find this post very racist! So what if I'm a gun-toting, Korean, bush-disliking, Republican.... You can't blame me on not liking bush. LOL! But seriously... I am Korean and you better be to make a comment like that.... LOL.... But really. Seriously! What was Springfield thinking bringing a gun with a shorter barrel and the same size grip. I guess that's why I own S&W M&P's instead of Springfield XDM's. If the Croatians could get it right I might buy one... On the other hand if S&W would make an M&P the size of the G19 than they'd put glock out of business. Oh yeah! Did I just do that? Yes I did.... I just Hi-jacked the thread because I'm Asian.... Guiness Rules!

I like the looks of it. I kinda wish it came in .45 with maybe a slightly shorter grip.
