XDm not moving?

Hey all,

So I am pricing out the XDm 40 to get an idea of what I am going to pay and who I want to pay it to. Well I called one of the Local Ranges/Stores and asked him. I was told they don't have it in stock. They rarely do because it doesnt move very fast. They get them (All Springfield-Armory) and they tend to sit for months. They say Sigs and Glocks move much better. I was also told to stay away from the 40 since its a junk round. Least I tell you all I was quite shocked. To be Gun of the Year and not sell well? Has anyone else come across this, or is this guy a specialized dealer giving me a load of crap? Any info would be helpful. Bull's Eye, L.L.C. is the web address of the range I called.

Thanks

I found the opposite when I was buying. THey couldn't keep them in the store and I put mine on layaway until I got the funds. When I came back to pick mine up 4 or 5 were gone.

I did have the gun store rep trying to steer me into a glock though. He was talking mad **** about the XD but I went with it because it was what I wanted. The store you go to might just be a glock/sig biased establishment.

Of course it wont sell well, with that kind of attitude. I bet he was one of those sales guys that pushes one brand over the rest too. The guy here has a backroom stacked floor to ceiling with guns and I would bet that the entire stock is replaced every couple weeks.

And they were out of xd9's and almost out of xdm9's because they just cant keep them in stock.

Sound like the folks a Bull's Eye don't know much about guns. They just like to spout off what they've heard someone else say with not reasoning as to why it's said. I hear such stuff from self proclaimed gun experts and mall ninjas all the time.

just go into the store and pretend you are looking to buy an xdm. ask them what they think of it and if they have any. if they respond with, "that gun sucks, buy this one instead its much better," then you know they push "x" brand over xdm. in which case, they will not likely give you top dollar for your trade in (if you are trying to trade it).

When I was looking for mine, they had none at the local Scheels. Week later they had dozens. Week after that slim pick'ns. Week after that dozens...

Then again, the sales guys there were just telling the facts about the guns - not opinions. They did offer to have multiple guns held / dry fired at the same time. They showed how to field strip, etc. All with a smile and patience. Wonder if that makes a difference?

The guy is full of it. Just by his comment on the 40 cal. round will tell you he is an idiot. 40 is a JUNK round? He should discuss it with the FBI, Police and every other agency that uses it.

Maybe it is because he marks his XDM's @ $750-800.00 and then wonders why they ain't sellin'.

I would drive 50 miles PAST his shop to take my business elsewhere. Idiot I say!

I agree. Samething with my local shop. Price is to high. They have a TRP SS 1911 that's been in stock for over 1 year because of price.

I think that XDM 40 is one of the best guns out there and for the 40 cal. it my next best to the 45 cal. Most of the dealers don't have them in my area because they can't keep them in stock. I don't know about the XDm 9mm but my choice would be 40 cal.
