Let's summarize since---all due respect---this thread is moderately hard to understand. You have a 9mm XDm, and you chambered a 9x18 Makarov round from the magazine, and now the round is stuck in the chamber. You cannot move the slide. --- Based on what you're saying, it sounds like the reason the slide is stuck is because the extractor is holding on to the rim of the cartridge. You can't remove the slide because you can't get the disassembly lever to turn with the slide in the forward position. (Since it is an XDm, you can disassemble without pulling the trigger, but that's moot.) With a live round in the chamber, I would not recommend banging on the bullet with your chopstick. That's a bad idea. My advice is this: Place the tip of the slide on a workbench. The gun will be vertical, pointing down. Make sure that only the top part of the tip of the slide is on the workbench, so that the barrel can freely extend past the front of the slide. Hold the grip safety down, and put as much force as possible into pushing the frame down. This will either remove the case from the chamber, and free your gun, OR this will rip the rim off of the case, and free the slide. If you rip off the rim, then lock back the slide, flip the disassembly lever, and disassemble the gun, WITHOUT pulling the trigger. Then remove the barrel, and---like agalindo said---beat out the round with a dowel rod. Not a chopstick. You may ruin your extractor doing this. Note: always point the gun in a safe direction. NEVER pull the trigger during this process. I highly recommend going to a gunsmith.

This is the normal way to remove a stuck round. If anything the case head edge where the extractor is holding on will give before the extractor breaks. Happens all the time when a round fails to extract. You never stick something down the barrel to force a live round out very dangerous.

If you have to go this route, use a pick to push the extractor claw around the case head.

My buddy has something similar happen, although it was the correct caliber. It happened to be an improper sized round or something? Anyway, the our local gunsmith wasn't going to charge him anything, but my buddy gave him $20 anyway. He had the round out in about 2min.

I'm kind curious in knowing how you'd get any tool on the bullet, short of sticking down the barrel...and, any tool that would be able to deform the bullet will more than likely mar your barrel, which would be even more expensive to replace than--survey says!--just taking it to a bleedin' gunsmith, who's seen this problem before and can deal with it rapidly. You really aren't going to come up with a brilliant idea on your own to solve this, all you're going to do is end up damaging something.
