Wow, lots of great advice. You're right it is a fail to feed not a stovepipe. I also shoot a KelTec and have experienced limp wrist that I overcame. I have 6 mags and it has done it with more than one. I'm using 124 grain, 9mm, FMJ American Eagle ammo. Next time at the range I'll make an effort to watch the limp wrist and I'll change ammo to see if there is any problem. I'll also look at the mags, but they're all brand new. Maybe some lube. The gun is clean and lubed. Thanks for the tips and I'll let you know how it works out.

My guess would be ammo. Or maybe limp wrist. But, I've experienced this with one brand of ammo.

Aquila, made in mexico. I've put over 1000 rounds through my xdm40 with no failure to feed ever. Bought some of this ammo for practicing, and all I've been able to practice is clearing a jammed gun.

most of what I get is miss fires, and failure to feed.

Changing the ammo is the easiest place to start also.

eh I highly doubt it is ammo, american eagle aka federal is probably the best quality range ammo you will find imo so it is either gun or technique.

Limpwristing will not cause the failure to feed you described. I would mark my mags and if the problem happens with only one mag or maybe two mags out of 5 the I would suspect the mags. Load one round in a know good mag and one in the trouble mag. Set the two mags side by side and you'll see a difference in the one problem mag. the bullet will sit higher or lower than the bullet on the known good mag. You'll have to modify the problem mag's lips to make the bullet sit at the same angle as the good mag.

failure to feed is not a limp wrist issue. either the mag or the shape of the bullet nose. Some find that hollow points are hard to feed because of the shape of the nose. also make sure you lube up the slide rails before you go to the range. some oils will evaporate when sitting for a while. If you have ruled out the magazines, the rounds, and lube then you should look at the feed ramp. maybe a small burr that needs to be polished down. Most gunsmiths will polish the feed ramp for you and it is inexpensive. Or do it yourself with a dremel polish tool and some jewelers polish. (not recommend if you have never used jewelers polish).
