You can't go wrong with a Glock 19.

Nothing wrong with the glocks, I had originally intended to purchase one myself, But I got a bit confused on what generation was known for what problems and alot of misinformation and falsehhods are out there with the glocks too.
I found some at great prices at glockworld, but it turned out they were mostly gen-1 & gen-2 guns. And in the glock community it seems you are a lower class citizen if you do not own at least 5 of the most current models and have the Austria marking on it Etc Etc Etc.
The one major point I decided to avoid Glock, I handload my own ammunition! the .40 glocks turn brass into scrap one time through the gun and the spent cartidges are usually out of spec to reload safely due to the unsupported brass at the lower part of the chamber.
Plus some reports of case seperation from this too, I am very happy I got my XDm in .40, now if I could just find brass that did not go through a glock I could load a few thousand rounds and get to the range to fire the damn thing!

Well I won't call you a traitor....lol
You simply have to do what is right for you when using and enjoying a handgun in my opinion.
I know a lot and I mean a lot of people like Glocks, look at all the law enforcement agencies that approve and use them, that should tell you something right there.
I looked at a many of them, handle them and shot one.
I just have a mental block about the plastic trigger.
Enjoy it, you will be happy if thats what you wanted in the first place.

Although I am a newbie, the one thing I have taken away from glocktalk is that Glock in 9mm as originally designed is a great and reliable platform, but the larger sizes may not have worked out as well as desired.

I would never fault a person for making a personal choice that works for them. (legal and healthy non-withstanding) Good for you on getting what you want.

Thanks for the info, though - my wife may be getting her own Glock sometime soon
