How do you clean the innerds of your XDm?
What methods do y'all use to clean the frame-side works and the slide-side works? I'm using a spray scrubber solvent with a toothbrush, but I'm worried I'm just shoving gunk further down into the mechanisms.
Any help?

Break-free CLP. If its too dirty for that then I'll detail-strip it. So far, it hasn't been, but I HAVE torn it down so I know how it goes back together.

I suggest that anyone who buys one of these pistols view all 7 of Rob Leatham's videos on the SA website. You may do a search for cleaning / maintenance on this forum and you will get some good stuff, but Rob boils it down really well. See Springfield Videos It is well worth watching.
During a range session, I field strip & wipe down; duing ring a range session, I field strip & wipe down after a hundred rounds or so; after a range session, I field-stripe, wipedown and do some storage lubing. That's it! If I need, for some streange reason to dissasemble the frame, to clean and reassemble is simplicity itself. But so far no real need --- just curiosity to see if I could do it. Anything more and I would send to SA or Springer, Batchelor or one of the guys that do that work every day.

Oh one thing more, I try to use clean-burning powder --- there are a couple of brands out there tht make cleaning more difficult ... names not quote to protect the guilty.

The slide, barrel, guide rod, and spring go in to the ultrasonic cleaner for about 480 seconds. The receiver gets blasted with non-chlorinated brake parts cleaner (same thing as gun scrubber, but it costs a lot less) and then q-tips and hoppes #9

The XDs all detail strip pretty easily. They're uncomplicated guns and there are many tutorials on how to do it. Several vids on YouTube as well.
They're rugged guns, it'd be hard to break em.
