Then I'd hate to see what you would have to say about a gun you thought was bad...
Personally, if I was given another XDm, I'd trade it off for a Glock in a heartbeat.
The XDm is not the end-all, be all pistol; they have several (in my eyes) deficiencies in areas that other pistols (including Glocks) just plain do better in.

Can you explain please? I'd like to know your opinion as I assume others would also. Good or bad I think it's best to know it all.

I have one BIG fault with my XDM who the hell put the loaded shell indicator in line of site's. I did have to take it out and put it in the box, in action shooting it was a hindrance to a quick site picture. took it out, everything went good then.

That is odd, I can't see the loaded chamber indicator when I look down my sights. How was it a hinderance to you, exactly?

Sure. I will state, however, that a good amount of this is subjective--based on my experiences with my ex-XDm.
First off, and this is one of my beefs with the whole XD line, is that they're top-heavy--they sit way to tall in my hands; Glocks (and P7's) nestle down low in the hand; pointing them is--for me--like extending my finger, and control is second nature. I had to work to bring the XDm back onto target in rapid fire.
Second off, and this is in particular to the XDm, is that the trigger--without mincing words--stinks. Long, mushy take-up, a break as crisp as lukewarm oatmeal, excessive overtravel, overlong reset. Honestly--they make standard Glock triggers look really darn good...and my G34 has an infinitely better factory trigger than the XDm.
Finally--and this is as subjecive as it gets--is that it would not, for some bleedin' reason, shoot to POA in my hands. If I picked up any one of my other pistols, I was hitting exactly where I wanted to; the XDm--6" to the left at 7 yards...consistently, for close to 400 or so rounds. My buddies could hit with it, I couldn't. I figured that if I spent a lot of time with it, I could probably get used to it--but, then again, I've got 20 other pistols that I shoot just fine, so why I should modify my shooting style for one of them that I really didn't like...down the road it went.
Those were my majors. There were a few other niggling things (thought the placement of the LCI was poor idea, for instance) that also bugged me about it. All in all, the XDm was a pistol I didn't regret seeing go.

This sounds like more of a Glock guy then an XD guy. Not saying thats bad but the way he describes his prefs id recommend a Glock over an XD to him.
Now me im a 1911 fan and found the XD series to feel better in my hands. The XDm is like the suped up XD. The problem with Glock is that they're so dead set in their ways that they feel they dont have to change much if anything as its the "superior glock" already. That type of thinking could kill it one day. Springfield took the XD and made the M. They dont have a complex associated with them like Glock imo and will improve upon designs.
The only thing I might get rid of my XDm 9 for is the M&P 9. I have trouble justifying their price though when I feel you get more with the XDm, more capacity, more goodies, easyer take down, etc..

Hey all,
New to XD Talk and just stumble over this thread.
If we're talking 40 cals, I'll take the XDM over Glock any day.
I don't quite have 700 rounds through my XDM 40, but it is already showing a lot less wear than G22's I've seen at this point (i.e. slide peening).
If we're talking 9's, I think it's a toss up. But that little G19 is good work horse (duty, ccw, hd, etc.).
Just my thoughts.
Great site, by the way.

I agree on the RTF grip. I held one yesterday and was very impressed. It almost 'sticks' to your hand.
