Canyon Creek Tungsten 4 oz Rods for XDM

Hey folks,
Sorry if this has been asked. I couldn't find the answer.
Are the 4 oz Canyon Creek Tungsten guide rods compatible with the stock recoil springs in the XDMs?

Never mind...

I found the answer.

Can anyone who has one in their .40 provide comments about the difference in performance?

Also I read in another thread if you want a tactical light on your XDm that will add the weight to the front of the gun also. The 5XL from Veridian weighs 2.9oz which combined with your stock guide rod should be more than the 4oz of it's "replacement" weight. Of course the 5XL is almost $400.

Now if you did the tungsten guide rod and a 5XL I am guessing the XDM will get kinda front heavy maybe. Does anyone have this combo that can chime in?

Ran out of things to do last evening so while the lathe was already dirty I dropped some 403 Stainless in it. I turned a custom guild rod for a XDm 40. I went with .405 OD to remove some of the slop from the factory rod dimensions. This gives me .003 spring clearance. Finished weight after polishing is 2.1 oz. Balance with a full mag is just a bit nose heavy. I will post firing results at a later date.

I am seriously considering purchasing a Tungsten guide rod for my XDM40. Seriously, is there that much difference in the recoil when replacing the stock guide rod with a Tungsten one? How about conceal carry, is the weight noticeably different when carrying it around?

Thanks.

I'm looking for input from anyone who has used it in the .40; please, if you've shot with the 4 oz, also include the ammo information. I'm especially interrested in how it changed the performance with 155 gr HST.

Thanks in advanced!
