Meprolite Sights
For my first post I would like to send a HUGE thank you to James Nicholas from xd-hs2000.com. When researching what type of night sights I wanted and checking prices and reading horror stories of those who have tried the install themselves, I called James. He answered every question and offered additional info/thoughts for me to consider. I decided to send him my slide for him to install the sights. i am glad I did. I had my slide back in less than a week, no marks, dents or scratches. It was perfect. If I need anything else, James will be my go to guy. Thanks James.

I think I've decided to send my gun (slide) to james and get him to install some sights. Only problem is I still don't know which sights to get. I definitely want some night sights. But, I like the idea of the Truglo TFOs.
Mind sharing why you went with the meprolite sights?

I have truglo tfo's and love them. Had Gilberts Gun shop do it. Paid 79 for the sights 10 to install and 12 to ship it back to me. Great sights work well outside in the sun or pitch black.
But on the OP, I have heard nothing but GOOD things about the guys at xd-hs2000.com.

Here is a link to my page of Sight Profiles, and every week I am adding more. Basically I am trying to do an un-boxing and profile of every single sight that will install on an XD. The ones posted already include Meprolight and Trijicon. Take a look at the different sights and it may give you a more educated decision.
Sight Profiles
Thank you for the Kind words please don't hesitate to call, the numbers on the bottom of every page if you need some help.

Why did I go with the Meprolite sights??? There was no one big reason. I had a hard time deciding. When looking on the sight profiles on Jame's website, something just nudged me towards them. I called and asked James for some advise and he had good things to say about all of them but what was REALLY nice was that Jame's told me if I didn't like the sights for some reason, he would work with me to get a set on there that fit my needs. You can't beat his customer service.

The HexSite people are working on a home kit for the XD, Sig and M&P but they are still off a while. They can install the HexSite if you send your pistol to them for the installation. They do need the whole pistol since they have to sight the sights in and manually fit the sights to the slide.

Well, I've got some Meprolights on my XD9, my old eyes through my progressive lenses are having a bit of a hard time focusing on them. Got to look at some truglo tfo's , for these old eyes they're absolutely awesome. Thinking about swapping my Meprolights out as soon as I can get the $$ up.

SmurfHunter who installed those sights and did they hammer them into place. The number one reason for a set of sights to fail is the glass vial filled with the tritium glass gets a crack in it. Usually from being hammered into place. If you still have the sights Meprolight has a great warranty and will take care of them.
Since I warrant my work if skeeterwholf or any one I install sights for has any problems, they are covered by me and will not have to wait for factory replacement.
