I have had James fix an XD-9 for me 100% for free. I didn't pay for labor, parts, or anything. Just a handshake.

Later, I had James refinish an XD-9 slide that just did not turn out the way he wanted it to. He recoated it for me a different color until he could get the equipment to properly remove the coating. Once he had the equipment I sent the slide back and he fixed it up for me. He did all this for the original price of the first refinish.

The refinish was such a lengthy situation that James offered to buy my pistol and put it towards a brand new S&W M&P, shipped straight to my FFL.

I'm not saying everyone will receive the same level of customer service from James that I did, but I have never experienced that kind of service from anyone anywhere.

I talked James a few weeks ago about the wear on my pistol, Knowing full well that wear will happen with any finish. My XD is used in a few matches and probably has a little more wear than most. But when I mentioned to him the flaking that is occuring on the top and the rear of the gun, He immediatly said to send it in and he would take care of it. IN no way was I expecting a a free coating, Just wondering what all I could do to prevent the flaking from getting worse. He's a stand up guy, that had a few issues to deal with. No different that any other company out there. After the Aug match my slide will be in the mail. If he does what he says I will say so if not I will be the first to say he didn't.

James did a great job on my XD. He intalled some TFO's and did a matte black coat for it as well. He did everything as promised and the XD looks and shoots great.

James has admittedly had some problems in the past and has worked very hard to correct them. He is a stand up guy.

Seems like a good businessman to me. Becomes aware of a problem and works to address it. Asking for a public apology seems uncalled for.

First I would like to say thank you for responding so this can be resolved. I don't think you are a bad guy, I just think that you were in over your head and took the easy way out of a bad situation.

I emailed you at your email address and left you several phone messages. IM's here on the site was not the only way I tried to contact you. Either way, you really should of called me back whenever it was that you got the message.

sights not returned I never promise to return sights anywhere, I dont promise becuase about 1/4 of the sights break, or are really dinged up.
I had asked you before I sent the slides to you for the old sights back. I always like to keep my old sights so in case I sell the gun they are given to the new owner. I also talked to you and personally asked for them and you said you would return them. You never mentioned anything about the sights possible being damaged.

For overnighting post office express can not in every zip code make over night. I still paid 18.80 or so to express mail the slides but you were in a two day zip code package was sent express though. On the slip would have told the exact time accepted for the package.
It was sent next day air. I appreciate you sending it next day air so I had them fast but I would of rather appreciated being told the truth about when you shipped them out.

And other than you a couple months back I dont think there has been a single complaint, becuase I did do several changes when I was closed (I think you sent me your stuff when I was closed I cant remeber). Basically yes I did get alot of complaints, I am one person and I fixed most of the issues.
I sent them while you were still open and if you read my original post several people also added there complaint.

But no one should have promissed you I would reply to you here on the talk group, I dont know who did but I am replying on my own, becuase I want to.
This appears to of been my misunderstanding. My apologies.

Quote:
When I installed your sights was your slide damged at all?
Where the sights new and in perfect condition when you recived them?
The sights were installed perfectly and were dead on. But they were rust in color and lacked the factory finish. This would of been very hard for you to not notice since they were installed in a stainless slide and was VERY obvious.

Quote:
Again I dare any member to call me out If I installed your sights to tell the world I installed a bad set of sights for you or a set that was off and did not shoot straight. And furthermore that if that set was bad and you returned the slide if I did not adjust them for free. As far a the paint flaking off TFOs are blued and you did not let me know the sight arrived damaged.
Please call TruGlow (972.774.0300) -- My RMA number with them was 709956. They have a record of the sight being damaged and them replacing it. I have no reason to lie about this. Also here is a screen shot of shipping proof:

http://www.cwlmiami.com/ajames/truglowshippingproof.jpg

I contacted you at least 3-4 times about the defective sight via email, PM's and phone messages and you never gave me the courtesy of a response. You can track the package here to verify TruGlow received it:

http://trkcnfrm1.smi.usps.com/PTSInt...55749153459666

My biggest issue with you was the lack of you responding to my calls/messages/emails/IM's and not telling me the truth about when the sights shipped. Twice you told me they shipped when you knew they were still with you and had not shipped.

I still do want my old sights back (its 2 pairs - I sent you two slides) and I do think you should cover the cost of shipping the sights to Tru-Glow.

My apologies for this being done in public BUT I tried MANY MANY MANY times to do this with you privately and you refused to respond. My last phone message indicated I would have to bring this into the open forum if you did not respond and you also ignored that message.

I tied to get it resolved privately for over a month. I felt it was time others read about the situation so they were aware and more careful.

I would like to add, just to make sure that there are no questions about whether I called him or not screen shots from by bill of all the times I called James are linked below

http://www.cwlmiami.com/ajames/calls.jpg

Please note these are only the calls from my cellular. I called him several times from my office and my House number. Also note that the last time we spoke, you called me, was on 2/8/07 at 2:19pm. I called you 4 times after that from my cellular (many more times from my office and home) and from the minutes of the call you can tell I did not speak with you but rather left messages. I never received a call back or a response. I finally sent off my sights to truglow in the beginning of March.

I got sights from pistolgear and had them sent to James. He installed them for a nominal fee. He did this even though he carries the sight in question, because he happened to be out of stock at the time and was happy to help.

He answered the phone when I called, twice, and advised me for about 1/2 hour on the type of sight I was ordering (which I ended up buying from another sponsor and shipped to him, as I mentioned).

I sent the slide, got the slide back with the sights I ordered in perfect condition.

The return was about 1 - 1/2 week and was perfectly fine with me.

I would do it again if I bought another XD or wanted new sights.

Just to add to the body of literature regarding the issue of James' service and customer service.
