Trigger Pull Issue
Need a little help to figure out what I need to change to get back to 5+ lbs on my trigger pull. Shooting production and have got about 5000 rounds through my .40 tactical.Broke the trigger spring last fall and waited until May to get another one finally so I install it and the gun is functioning perfectly. I go to the Provincial Chanmpionships and have (unfoundedly) not a worry in the world. Only to get to the test station and find my trigger is under 5 lb pull. Boom into Open I go.
I have 2 other XD's so when I get home I build a trigger tester and my 9 and the other .40 pass the test and my original fails just like at the match. What parts or springs etc. could cause this problem and what pray tell do I need to change to getback to 5+ lbs trigger pull? Would a new sear spring help? Got 3 weeks before Nationals and don't want the same problems. Any advise besides use my other gun would be greatly appreciated.

An extra power striker spring, you get one for free with the Wollf XD recoil springs. The striker will push on the sear just a little harder. You can get a replacement drop safety spring do some searching and you can find new stronger springs this will add weight during the takeup. Imagine the lever having to rotate up and push the safety up with a stronger spring. And yes also a new sear and or trigger spring will help as well. The striker spring may be the easiest to replace since they come with the recoil spring and can be easliy found. Good luck try a couple different things to see what gets you the results but for a decent amount of time. Fixing the problem every 100 rounds wont help.

Trigger Pull Issue
Thanks for the reply and advice. It would be easy to fix if we could actually get springs and parts up here in Canada but it seems our customs people are very anal about what come accross the border in regards to firearm parts. I have only been able to procure replacement trigger and sear springs from an aftermarkert dealer. Springfield will not send me anything. Will you send items to us in Canada? I will not send my firearm to Springfield because of the horror stories of not getting them back because of the beurocrats.
If you can supply and ship let me know and I will place an order. If needed we can communicate via email rather than on the forum. Thanks, Jim
