Update: No slide No Message
As promised, I am providing my update. I waited an extra day [we have weekend overnight delivery in the big city] but I have not received my slide with new TFO's as promised. I also did not receive an e-mail explaining the further delay. During the week I did receive two PM's from individuals who reported recent problems similar to mine. Very fast responses to questions in the pre-order stage and then long delays and unanswered e-mails after the order was placed.
I am sure James does a large volume of business here and I have seen many happy customers on this forum. I know many people on the net are never happy. I am not one of them. My slide was delivered to his PO Box as instructed on Feb 10. I hope his business gets back to top performance. I always hope that a person displaying a Christian signature line will perform at a higher standard to the better reflection of us all. I hope that he will yet come through with an appropriate conclusion, for now I would like my slide back asap. I sent him a more detailed PM. I will keep you up to date. |

One thing to remember when dealing with him. He IS a one man shop. You guys kill me. 1.)You want him to answer all phone calls right NOW. 2.)You want all phone call messages returned IMMEDIATELY. 3.)You want IMMEDIATE responses to all emails 4.)You want IMMEDIATE responses to all messages posted on this forum. 5.)You want top notch work from HIM because of his reputation. 6.)You prefer dealing with a one man shop because of HIS attention to detail. 7.)You prefer dealing with a one man shop because of the QUALITY of HIS work. One man can only do soo much. He can not be your everything. You cannot have it all. If I / when I have work done on my XD45 that is beyond what I can/want to do, I will send it to him with the understanding that it may take a little longer then some other shop. BUT with the understanding that it will be done with HIS personal attention to DETAIL.

I've had no problem getting in touch with him on the phone. Sent in my slide right before the shutdown. Got work done and returned to me as promised.
He mentioned that he is revamping the website, so his e-mail may not be reliable (my assumption). He is shut down until April, so be patient.

You know everyone here knows he is a ONE MAN operation. And he does alot of business. If he had to answer every phone call right away He would get nothing done You also have to realize that if he is in the middle of doing a DuraCoat he just can't stop and talk to you for 20 minutes.
He had gotten some help once before, But if you are in management or a business owner you realize that good help is hard to find. I know that I would rather have James do the work hisself and it take a little extra time than some Apprentice screwing up my handgun. You also have to realize the guy does need some HIM time BTW also read the post that says he is closed!!! It will explain the deal...

calm down now
I did not advertise 48 hrs turnaround before the unadvertized 2/18 closing. My slide arrived 2/10.
When I asked for an update or return I did not promise overnight by last Friday. I would have accepted any reasonable agreement, just wanted communication. I am not judinging his Christianity. Said we should set an example, See Matt 5:14-16. Still waiting. But would like my slide returned now. No flames gentlemen. |

That IS questioning his christianity. Perhaps we should question yours. You say you aren't one of those people who are never happy on the internet. But yet you come on here to complain to US about this problem, rather than try a few times a day to call James. He cannot always be at his computer. He doesn't check his emails or his messages on here daily, he is too busy. So why don't you be a good christian and give this guy a break, give him a call, and work something out.. instead of trying to attack him by pointing out this slow return of your slide to all of us. |

Apology
For those of you who believe I insulted or otherwise attacked James and his "performance" as a Christian", or any other, regarding my comments on Faith references in business, please accept my sincere and humble apology. I do not pretend to be in a place to judge his, or anyone else's walk. I thought I was clear regarding the creation of expectations [not as a comment on actual performance in life or faithfulness] and in retrospect I can see how the remark could be offensive.
For those who have been paying attention to my efforts to communicate in this and the last post; I will go back offline for awhile. But I will do a simple factual post here to let you know when I have my property back. I still hope that I will have a positive ending that matches the expectations of his defenders. |

I'm surprised you've had trouble contacting James via phone. I've called several times and he either picked up when I called or he called me back right away when I left a message.
