Which Sights
Since you sell both the XS 24/7 std and the Truglo TFO can you give me any info that would help me decide between the two. My eyesight is getting poor and I want something I can see day or night. It will be used for IDPA and carry.

I'm not sure who this post was addressed to, but I can say that the XS Big Dots are really easy to see and acquire. My dad and his friend Mike liked em because of that fact. They both have "aging eyes." That big white dot really stands out and the tritium is bright at night.

If you shoot in the match outdoor and also wants night sights, I'd say go with truglo TFO since it's the only sights right now that offers Fiber optics/ Tritium.
Big dots are good too but it's harder to aim smaller target.

Actually, not to be a PITA, but I found the big dots really easy to hit with at 25 yards. If you're shooting IDPA/IPSC, they'll work fine. If you're shooting bullseye, then maybe you should avoid the big dots. I shot better with them at 25 than I did the std. 3-dot.

I have sold alot of the TFOs to local police officers especially older cops who have fading eyes. Basically they all say that they can now see their sights again, but either way both sights are good stuff. The one thing about the 24/7 big dots though is that they use an "i" sight picture where you put the dot over a line. SOme people are not open to that and have to have a three dot system.

sights
James, what about the Heine straight or slant eight sights? Are they good for aging(old) eyes?
Thanks, Robert |

I've got TFO's on a 1911 and love them.
James has put a set on my HS2000 as well...I know that I will love them as well! I have shot a gun with the big dots and I find it difficult to determine point of aim/impact since the dot is so ginormous!
